On King’s Birthday weekend we had a number of club members attend the Hawke’s Bay Congress.
The weekend kicked off on the Friday night with the 3 +1 teams. 18 teams entered and were provided an open player, giving advice and answering any questions at the table. Although the focus of this session was about learning, Hastings players took the top 3 places.

On AZAC day 2024 the club held a charity bridge event, raising money for Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawke's Bay. We had a great turn out with 19 tables and great support for the raffle of donated goods from club members. A big thank you to those who joined us and our club members for their donations

The first of three improver lessons were held at the club on Thursday 8th February and proved very popular with 27 players attending. The lessons even attracting interest from players outside the club as well. A big thank you to Steve Armon (and his helpers) for the preparation and running of these sessions.

In February 2024 there will be a series of 3 lessons aimed at those who have recently completed the beginner lessons, but all are welcome. The aim of these sessions are to consolidate the learning from the first set of lessons and introduce some new conventions.
